Livestock : SPS Corals : Green Montipora Digitata
Possible Species : M. digitata, M. samarensis
Description : Round smooth branches with small corallites giving a velvet appearance. Branches are up to 7mm thick although base will encrust to gain support on rock structure. Olive green in coloration which will fluoresce under 20,000K and actinic lighting.
Care : Usual SPS water chemistry and tolerant of range of water currents which will affect growth formation. This is another adaptable coral suitable for the first time SPS aquarist. Does not need 400W lighting and anything from VHO to 250 W halides will suffice. Can be the fastest growing SPS coral once it settles in to specific water chemistry. This coral has been in captive propagation program since 1997.
