Livestock : Soft Corals : Blue Pom Pom Xenia
Possible species: Heteroxeinia sp.
Description: Grows with a thick stalk and a large multi-polyp covered head. Each polyp pulsates in classic xenia fashion. Blue/pink in colour. In optimum conditions and strong light this soft coral will produce branches that may separate by fission. Not as problematic in this colonizing reproduction as other xenia species.
Care: Low to average water flow with MH lighting. Will tolerate less light but this will limit the growth. Been in captive propagation program since 1999.
