Research : Nutrition
Advances in our understanding of nutrient cycling in our reef aquaria have enabled us to develop tools and practices to handle relatively high inputs of food into our systems. There is plenty of evidence to suggest feeding our corals as well as the fish. This is still an emerging aspect of our hobby, however, and Reef Encounters is investigating the following areas:
- Phytoplankton additions
- Zooplankton additions
- Automatic feeding systems
- Feeding schedules
- Zooxanthellae populations and diversity
